Hope you had a great summer so far. After a two month break, our regular PechaKucha Night Toronto series is returning on Tuesday Sep 11 at our favourite venue, the Gladstone Hotel.
Since the last PKN Toronto in June, I’ve been reflecting a lot on how to bring PechaKucha Toronto to its next level. I know PKN has some dedicated fans in the city (at least that’s what everyone tells me…) but I feel that we’ve been lacking a “community”. As much as I love listening to designers/creatives talking about their inspirations and cool projects on stage, my goal as the organizer has always been fostering a collaborative and supportive PechaKucha community in Toronto. As I try to tell people, PechaKucha 20x20 is just a tool we use to bring creative people together to share a drink and “chit-chat”.
As this newsletter listing is monitored by our Tokyo HQ, I have no idea who’s receiving this newsletter. I just assume whoever if you have signed up on our mailing list, you are interested in PechaKucha Night Toronto. If you have been coming to PechaKucha Night Toronto, I hope you can come up to me and say hi. If you haven’t been coming to PKN Toronto for a while, I hope you will come again as we’ve evolved a lot since.
For this upcoming edition, we welcome our youngest presenter to date (a 12 year old kid), an interesting opening act and the return of our new fan favourite PechaKucha Mix, in which 4 audience take the stage and ad-lib a presentation.
