“The Hugh Garner Housing Co-operative, in partnership with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto Charitable Fund (CHFT), has replaced the southern half of its conventional roof with a green roof. It is the largest and most innovative project of its kind in Ontario. CHFT is a non-profit organization that assists housing co-operatives and their residents.”
The roof is “22,000 square feet in total! And while it will save money in the long term, the initial cost will be considerably more than that of a standard roof.”
